The Project 20120 is a diesel-electric submarine fitted with a nuclear reactor as a supplementary power generator. This special purpose submarine is intended for testing of new technologies and weaponry. The only boat of this class called B-90 Sarov was commissioned in 2007 with the Northern fleet and has been serving since then as an spy vessel in northern waters.
